The Spider Patrol

June 12, 2026

It began with a shoe.

More specifically, it began with Leo staring intently at one shoe and the suspicious gap beside it.

Buddy noticed first.

This was not unusual. Buddy notices things. He is nine years old, has a dignified gray muzzle, and believes strongly in household order.

Leo, on the other hand, believes in action.

For a long time, Leo remained stationed near the shoe. He watched. He waited. He investigated.

Buddy observed the operation with concern.

Had Leo found a spider? A bug? An imaginary friend? No one could say for sure.

What we do know is that later that night, Leo was seen shaking his head and chomping on something in the corner.

And then suddenly, the shoe watch was over.

CHOMP.

Investigation closed.

Studio secure.

Buddy would like the record to reflect that eating the witness does not automatically close an investigation.
