About Dancing Dingo


Dancing Dingo began in Austin, Texas in 2003 with a simple idea: skincare and fragrance should feel natural, grounding, and personal.

From the beginning, our goal has been to create products that support the skin without unnecessary additives, harsh chemicals, or artificial fragrances. Instead, we focus on thoughtfully chosen botanical ingredients and small-batch formulations designed to nurture the skin and engage the senses.

Every Dancing Dingo product is still made with the same philosophy that started the company more than two decades ago — simple, honest skincare created with care.

Over the years, many of our customers have become longtime friends of the brand. They return again and again for the comforting scents, the nourishing oils, and the feeling that the products they use each day are made with intention.

When I started Dancing Dingo in 2003, I simply wanted to create skincare that felt natural, honest, and comforting to use every day.

Over the years the brand has grown, but the philosophy has remained the same. Each product is developed with care, using thoughtfully chosen botanical ingredients and scents that feel grounding and personal.

Many of our customers have been with Dancing Dingo for years, and their continued support is what allows this small Austin brand to keep doing what it loves.

Craft & Background


Before founding Dancing Dingo, Kathy Cumberland spent many years working in both engineering and graphic design in Austin, Texas.

Her background includes manual drafting for engineering firms and the City of Austin, where she worked on civil drawings for water and wastewater projects. She later created presentation graphics for the Austin City Council and produced illustration and rendering work for private firms, including subdivision logos and development renderings.

Kathy also worked at IBM, where she created detailed drafting illustrations of machine parts, including exploded technical views.

Those years working with pen and pencil on mylar — where line quality, balance, and precision mattered — shaped the way she approaches both illustration and product design today.

Many of the visual elements used throughout Dancing Dingo are created by Kathy herself, blending technical precision with creative expression.

Writing & Reflections

In recent years, Kathy has expanded her creative work beyond skincare and fragrance, writing personal essays about life, aging, family, resilience, and the unexpected lessons found in everyday moments.

Her work has been featured by Sixty and Me, where she writes about growing older with curiosity, humor, and authenticity.

Recent essays include The Freedom of Finally Being Yourself and A Saturn Charm, a Terrible Joke, and a Mother's Love.

Whether through fragrance, skincare, or writing, the goal remains the same: creating something thoughtful, meaningful, and genuinely human.

Meet Buddy & Leo — The Current Management Team


While Margaret may have founded the spirit of Dancing Dingo, daily operations are now overseen by Buddy and Leo.

Buddy serves as Director of Operations, Head of Security, and Customer Relations Specialist.

Leo currently holds the position of Captain Leo Tiberius Cumberland, O.B. — Order of the Box — and is responsible for strategic objections, vault inspections, and cardboard-based infrastructure throughout the fleet.

Together they provide supervision, quality control, and occasional chaos.
